What we do
Main Activities
Check out our latest Pictures.
Our main activities are hiking and camping. We take part in the
following events annually:
- Annual Water Camp (although
we are not a sea scout troop we are particularly interested in
water activities
and building rafts)
- Annual Berg Hike (we
usually hike to the 2000 meter level while the senior scouts hike to the top of the
"Berg" (The Drakensberg Mountains some 3000 meters high)
- Annual Survival Camp (we have to survive for thirty hours) (seniors 48 hours) with no rations and only
one litre of water. If we catch food e.g. fish, birds or small game we may eat it. We have
to find water and purify it. We do not sleep in tents but construct our own shelters. The
Seniors always have a Secret
Mission. This year there is great excitement as various codes
and rumours have been spread!
- Annual Bush Camp (We
go to a game reserve or game farm where we are able to do tracking, hiking, game
& bird observation) in April 1999 we went to
Swartruggens Lodge, in 2000 Borakalalo National Park & in April
