Twelve patrols (11 from Scouts & 1 from Guides) competed in the Sandton District Cooking and Camping competition held at Delta Park on the week-end of 13th 14th May 2000. Scouts and Girl Guides were required to pitch tents, pioneer a gateway, table, flagpole and camp gadgets and cook suitable meals over coals that were judged by Scouters and Parents. Inspections were carried out periodically for neatness, cleanliness and gadgetry. We Won!!!!! Parkmore Guide Company won first prize for the Cooking section and first prize for the Camping section. Much to the amazement of all the Scouts, Parents and the Guides themselves!
